THE COLON

The boat is as Nordic as it gets. Built in Denmark in 1973 in "Roskilde bÃ¥tverft", The boat is registered in Norway and have a Swedish owner. Its made for great deeds indeed.

Built at Sandersen, with a design from Knud Olsen. Originally built as Ketch but this boat has been rebuilt for a single mast.

The boat was bought and imported to Norway sometime in the mid 80's and have been there ever since. Apart from 2 circumnavigations and 1 tour to the Caribbean and back.

It is truly built for crossing oceans and hopefully, the boat still has a couple of more oceans in her before leaving the Crew stranded on some remote island...

SO WHY THIS BOAT?

How come the captain decided for this one?

Last time sailing around the world, the captain was so Fascinated by all the boats and the different personalities he met. Not only on people but the characteristics of the boats these people were traveling on. All along, however, the boat he was crewing on at the time was always the most simple boat, the smallest and with the absolute craziest stories. No matter where they were anchoring. Of course, he would say so as he was crewing on this boat.

Time has flown by and even though much more comfort would be desired for the next trip, the personality of the boat was almost higher prioritized than the comfort of the massive sized boat so many others dream about. It had to be something extra. Something special. Something like the former boat. A boat with its own personality!

One fall night in 2017 the Captain went, in the cold and in the rain to check this beauty of a boat. It was love at first sight and the boat has ever since been in the possession of the captain. A captain once again looking for taking this boat across the oceans...
